Device for Testing Automatic Overload Controls UPA (UPA-10)

Device for testing automatic overload controls is intended for testing efficiency and setting up maximal protections at low man-hour. Low-weight and small-dimension devices for testing automatic machines UPA are available. Below you will find brief characteristics of the devices.

Devices for testing automatic overload controls (UPA)

Devices for testing automatic overload controls have a process flowsheet for testing automatic overload controls using a primary alternating current that consists of:

  • a power transformer;
  • a thyristor potentiostat (and/or a water rheostat);
  • a current/time registrator with a display device of measurands;
  • a flexible bus bar of connection.

An operator connects an automatic machine to the device for testing automatic overload controls using flexible bus bars and models a real situation: smooth or jumping current increase in a power circuit until UPA works.

Measurands of an actuating current and an actuating time of the automatic machine are stored in the memory of the device till next measuring that is very convenient for the operator.

These devices enable staff to test and to set automatic overload controls, current transformers and other devices with meeting necessary safety regulations.
